Job description

Air Import Operator (NIGHTS) Location: Heathrow Hours: 4ON4OFF - 8pm-8am The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Air Import Operator to join our Heathrow-based operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a busy and supportive environment where you'll take ownership of import shipments from arrival through to final delivery. Working closely with customers, airlines, warehouses and customs authorities, you'll ensure freight is moved efficiently, compliantly and with the highest level of customer service. Key Responsibilities Manage air import shipments from start to finish, ensuring all files are completed accurately and in line with company procedures. Monitor and action import-related emails, providing timely updates to customers and internal teams. Complete customs import entries and ensure all shipments remain compliant with HMRC regulations. Prepare import quotations and process customer bookings. Produce collection and delivery documentation for transport movements. Liaise with customers, warehouses, transport providers and customs officials to ensure the smooth movement of freight. Manage ERTS processes and monitor shipments throughout the import process. Calculate and apply storage charges where applicable. Ensure accurate costing, charging and invoicing of import files. Maintain accurate records using internal freight forwarding systems. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by delivering a high level of service. Support and mentor colleagues by sharing knowledge and assisting with training where required. Contribute ideas to improve operational efficiency and customer experience. About You To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have: Previous experience working within Air Freight Imports. Good knowledge of customs procedures and import documentation. Experience completing customs entries using CDS or similar customs software. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple shipments. Excellent communication and customer service skills. High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. Good IT skills and experience using freight forwarding systems.
