Office Manager Gateshead | Full-Time | 37.5 Hours Per Week | Monday-Friday Reed Business Support are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing business based in Gateshead for an experienced Office Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that is entering a key phase of growth and development. They are looking for an ambitious, proactive and highly organised individual who can take ownership of office operations, lead a small administration team and support the business as it continues to evolve. This role requires more than a traditional administrator. The successful candidate will be a confident decision-maker, a strong communicator and someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and continuous improvement are key. Key Responsibilities • Manage and support a small administration team • Oversee the day-to-day running of the office • Manage incoming communications and enquiries efficiently • Handle HR-related queries and support HR processes • Work closely with a newly appointed HR Advisor • Coordinate multiple communication workflows across the business • Maintain effective diary and schedule management • Ensure document control procedures are followed accurately • Support compliance requirements, including ISO standards • Identify and implement process improvements • Analyse issues and escalate where necessary • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and stakeholders About You The successful candidate will have: • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Senior Administrator or similar role • Experience managing or supervising a small team • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy • Good technical and systems skills, ideally including HR systems • The ability to work independently and make decisions confidently • Strong communication and problem-solving skills • A proactive and solutions-focused approach Personal Attributes The business is looking for someone who is: • Honest, hardworking and supportive • Ambitious and eager to develop professionally • Adaptable and comfortable working through change • Proactive rather than reactive • Confident representing the business externally • Focused, driven and committed to high standards • Passionate about continuous improvement What's On Offer? • Salary of £28,000 initially, rising to £30,000 after first 3 months • Opportunity to join a growing and evolving business • Varied and autonomous role with leadership responsibility • Supportive working environment • Genuine opportunity to influence processes and make an impact • Monday-Friday working pattern with no weekends Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday (core client hours 9:00am-5:00pm) If you're an experienced Office Manager looking for your next challenge within a growing business, we'd love to hear from you.
