Packaging Operative Location: Black Sheep Brewery, Masham, North Yorkshire Salary: £12.71 per hour Hours: 40 hours per week Join the Black Sheep Brewery Team We're looking for a motivated and reliable Packaging Operative to join our Packaging team at our expanding brewery in Masham. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an iconic Yorkshire brewery, helping to package our award-winning beers into casks, kegs, cans and bottles for customers across the UK. As part of our Packaging team, you'll work closely with Brewing, Maintenance, Quality and Distribution colleagues, gaining experience across multiple packaging lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Be Doing • Package beer to the highest quality and food safety standards. • Operate a range of packaging machinery and equipment. • Prepare packaging lines, including cleaning, changeovers and basic maintenance. • Complete production records accurately using paperwork and business software. • Maintain excellent housekeeping, cleanliness and sanitation standards. • Monitor product quality and report any issues promptly. • Work safely and follow all Health & Safety procedures. • Communicate effectively with colleagues across departments. • Report mechanical issues to the Shift Leader or Brewers. • Operate a forklift (where trained). • Support other departments and colleagues as required. • Be flexible to work across our two sites when needed. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a genuine pride in producing high-quality products. Essential: • Reliable, hardworking and committed. • Able to work safely in a manufacturing environment. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Organised with excellent attention to detail. • Practical problem-solving skills. • Physically fit and capable of manual handling. • Comfortable working with cleaning and sanitising chemicals following safe working procedures. Desirable: • Experience in a production, manufacturing or packaging environment. • Packaging or production training. • Chemical handling experience. • Mechanical aptitude or engineering awareness. • Forklift licence or experience (training may be available).
