Assistant Accountant Manchester City Centre | Hybrid Working£30,000 - £36,000 + Full Study Support + Private Healthcare + Bonus Looking to accelerate your accounting career? We're partnering with a global professional services organisation to recruit an ambitious Assistant Financial Accountant to join their high-performing finance team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified ACCA or CIMA student looking to take the next step in a technically focused role, gaining exposure to international entities, statutory reporting, month-end accounting and compliance within a collaborative, supportive environment. You'll work closely with experienced finance professionals, external auditors and tax specialists, giving you the platform to develop your technical skills and progress your career as you work towards qualification. What You'll Be Doing As Assistant Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial reporting and compliance activities across a number of European and Middle Eastern entities. Key responsibilities will include: • Supporting the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journals • Owning and reconciling balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies • Preparing fee reconciliations and supporting intercompany transactions, invoicing and settlements • Assisting with statutory accounts preparation and year-end audit processes • Producing monthly reporting packs for external accountants and supporting local GAAP reporting requirements • Supporting VAT returns and other regulatory submissions • Building strong relationships with Accounts Payable, Billing, Tax and Treasury teams • Assisting with financial statements, process improvements and ad-hoc finance projects • Working within a robust control environment whilst handling large volumes of financial data About You We're keen to speak with candidates who have: • Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA status and are actively studying • 3+ years' UK accounting experience within a finance or accounting role • Experience supporting month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations • Exposure to statutory accounts, audits or financial reporting • VAT knowledge and experience supporting submissions • Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems • A proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset Please note: Applicants must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
