• Greet and direct patients and visitors.
• Make appointment bookings using the Care Navigation Templates.
• Process repeat prescription requests and forward any queries relating to prescriptions to the practice pharmacist and/or pharmacy technician.
• Take home visit requests.
• Deal with general enquiries and complaints.
• Take messages accurately and pass on in a timely manner.
• Assist people to access the services they need.
• Undertake a variety of reception duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
• Register new and temporary residents.
• Give out pathology results, once actioned by clinicians.
• Arrange and book translators.
• Respond to the needs of GP's and Nurses to enable efficient clinics.
• Update the clinical system with information eg smoking, ethnicity etc.
• Action change of address notifications.
• Dealing with workflow processes within the practice.
• Effectively liaise with Practice, Primary Care Organisation's, patients and other external organisation's to assist promptly with the resolution and administration of queries.
• Fully utilise SystmOne (training will be provided) and other IT systems.
• Monitor and check tasks and workflows.
• Communicate effectively with the reception team to ensure policies and procedures are kept up to date.
• Keep directories and databases up to date to ensure an efficient work flow.
• Photocopying.
• Dealing with internal and external post.
• Attend meetings when required.
• Scanning/Coding and other administrative duties as required by the practice.
• To work safely at all times in accordance with legislation and practice policies and procedures.
• Be flexible both in the availability and being able to cover for colleagues absent from work due to annual leave or sickness.
• Any other reasonable duties requested by Business Manager, Operational Manager or GP.
• In addition to the above, the post holder will show respect and courtesy to patient and colleagues, maintain confidentiality of patient and other practice information at all times.
