Job description

Payroll & Pensions Specialist Location: Ipswich Hybrid Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary: £28k-£32k doe We are seeking for an experienced Payroll & Pensions Specialist to join our friendly and professional Payroll and Pensions team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant, and high-quality payroll and pension services to our customers. Key Responsibilities • Manage a portfolio of end-to-end monthly payrolls • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines • Administer pension processing including Auto Enrolment, AVCs, Local Government and Teacher Pension Schemes. • Process pension joiners, leavers, transfers, retirements, and in-service changes • Reconcile payroll and pension data and produce accurate reports • Liaise with HMRC, pension providers, finance teams, and other stakeholders • Investigate and resolve complex payroll and pension queries • Support audits, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives About You • Proven experience in payroll processing and pension administration • Strong knowledge of LGPS and Teachers' Pension Scheme (highly desirable) • Experience using payroll systems (iTrent knowledge highly desirable) • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills • High attention to detail and strong Excel skills • CIPP qualification (desirable) What We Offer • Competitive salary dependent on experience • Hybrid working • Ongoing training and career development • Supportive and collaborative team culture • Wellbeing, financial, and retail benefits
