Job description

Your new company An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to join a friendly and supportive payroll team. This role is ideal for an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop a long-term career in payroll. Whether you already have some payroll experience or are eager to build your knowledge, full training and ongoing support will be provided. Your new role • Support the processing of monthly payroll for approximately 700 employees. • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records, including starters and leavers. • Ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date, including pay changes, overtime and deductions. • Administer statutory payments, including SSP, SMP and SPP. • Support pension administration and payroll compliance requirements. • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including P60s and HMRC documentation. • Respond to payroll queries and liaise with external organisations where required. • Ensure compliance with Right to Work and UK payroll legislation. What you'll need to succeed • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Discreet and professional approach when handling confidential information. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook. • Previous payroll experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
