Part-Time Payroll Clerk (Temporary Contract) - Accountancy Practice Dunstable £18 per hour | 3-4 Days per Week Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established accountancy practice in the recruitment of a Part-Time Payroll Clerk to provide 3-month temporary cover due to staff absence. The role may be extended to 6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a friendly and supportive practice, processing bureau payrolls for a varied portfolio of approximately 120 clients. The role offers flexibility around working days, with workloads naturally increasing towards month-end. Key Responsibilities • Process weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of approximately 120 clients • Manage a mix of payrolls, from director-only companies to larger, more complex businesses • Process statutory payments including SSP, SMP and other payroll adjustments • Calculate variable pay, multiple pay rates, holiday pay and overtime where required • Respond to payroll queries and provide excellent client service • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and in line with current legislation • Use Moneysoft Payroll Manager to administer payrolls efficiently Key Requirements • Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment • Confident processing payrolls for a varied client portfolio • Strong understanding of statutory payroll requirements and auto-enrolment • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines • Confident communicating with clients and resolving payroll queries • Experience using Moneysoft Payroll Manager is highly desirable What's on Offer • Around £18 per hour • Initial 3-month temporary contract with potential extension to 6 months • Enhanced pension • Flexible part-time hours (3-4 days per week) • Varied bureau payroll workload • Supportive and friendly working environment • On-site role based in Dunstable Interested?
