Role Title: Payroll & Pensions Advisor Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Salary: £32,080 to £38,784 per annum Hybrid: Minimum 2 days per week in the office Location: Leicestershire Sellick Partnership are working with a well-established Higher Education organisation that is seeking an experienced Payroll & Pensions Advisor to join their People Services team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a supportive team, delivering an accurate, compliant and customer focused payroll and pensions service. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring payroll is processed efficiently, supporting colleagues with complex payroll and pension enquiries, and helping to maintain high service standards across the function. The responsibilities of the Payroll & Pensions Advisor will be: • Prepare and validate payroll information ahead of monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Provide expert guidance on payroll and pension related queries, acting as an escalation point for more complex issues. • Administer workplace pension schemes and ensure legislative and regulatory requirements are met. • Produce payroll reports and maintain accurate employee records across HR and payroll systems. • Support payroll processing through to payment submission where required. • Assist with system enhancements, testing and continuous improvement initiatives. • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, providing a professional and responsive service. • Ensure payroll legislation, policies and procedures are consistently applied. The ideal candidate for the Payroll & Pensions Advisor role will have: • Previous payroll administration experience with strong end-to-end payroll knowledge. • A sound understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory requirements. • Experience working with pension schemes and payroll related processes. • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly. • Experience using integrated HR and payroll systems such as SAP, Oracle, iTrent or similar. • Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail. • The ability to manage workloads independently while working collaboratively within a team. • Public sector experience is highly desirable, with Higher Education experience being advantageous. • A CIPP qualification or equivalent payroll experience would be beneficial.
