Job description

You will provide specialist advice to HR, Finance, leaders, and employees while managing payroll operations delivered through an external payroll provider. You will lead payroll governance, statutory compliance, controls, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure an efficient and high-quality payroll service. Client Details Our Client • National leader within the FMCG space • Bases across the South of England - primary operations in Bracknell • Hybrid working with free parking on site • Headcount nationally of 1,000+ employees • Fantastic working relationships inter-company between payroll, HR and Finance Description Payroll Team Lead • Lead end-to-end UK & Ireland payroll operations. • Ensure payroll compliance, governance, and audit readiness. • Manage payroll providers, benefits administration, and key stakeholder relationships. • Coach and develop payroll team capability. • Deliver payroll reporting, analytics, and business insights. • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives. • Support an exceptional employee experience through accurate, efficient payroll delivery. Profile Successful Payroll Team Lead • Extensive experience managing end-to-end UK payroll. • Exposure to Republic of Ireland payroll (preferred). • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pensions, statutory payments, and payroll taxation. • Experience managing outsourced payroll providers. • Experience with payroll controls, audits, and governance frameworks. • Strong analytical and reporting skills. • Experience coaching or leading payroll team members. • Excellent stakeholder management skills. • Advanced Excel skills and experience with payroll systems.
