Tax ManagerLocation: Scarborough / Hybrid Working Available Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: Full Time - 36.25 hours per week About the OpportunityWe are partnering with a highly respected independent accountancy and business advisory firm to recruit an experienced Tax Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a successful Personal Tax function, managing a talented team while providing high-quality tax advice to a varied portfolio of clients. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership skills, playing a key role in the continued growth and success of the firm's tax offering. The RoleAs Tax Manager, you will oversee the delivery of personal tax compliance and advisory services while supporting the development of both clients and colleagues. Key Responsibilities • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Tax Seniors and junior team members. • Managing a portfolio of private clients, including individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates. • Delivering complex personal tax planning and advisory projects. • Reviewing personal tax returns and ensuring compliance deadlines are met. • Managing HMRC enquiries and resolving complex tax matters. • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted adviser. • Monitoring departmental performance, including work in progress (WIP), billing and resource planning. • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and contribute to the continued growth of the tax department. • Supporting Partners with technical projects and business development initiatives where appropriate. About YouWe're looking for an experienced tax professional who has developed their career within a UK accountancy practice. Ideally, you will have: • A minimum of five years' experience in personal tax within an accountancy practice. • ATT and/or CTA qualification (preferred), although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered. • Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation. • Previous experience leading or mentoring a team. • Excellent communication and relationship management skills. • A commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to add value for clients. • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
