Job description

Pharmacy technicians in GP practices are now central to the management of medicines and the delivery of services across the NHS. As the push for safer, more efficient primary care grows, the role of a pharmacy technician has expanded. Today, these team members support clinical reviews, clinical audits, workflow, and quality improvement making them an essential part of modern primary care pharmacy teams. Key responsibilities include: • Medicines reconciliation and optimisation • Discharge summary reviews and medication alignment • Support for Structured Medication Reviews(SMRs) within scope • EPS and ERD facilitation to streamline digital prescribing • Assistance with chronic disease management plans • Service evaluation, audit participation, and quality improvement • Health promotion and patient education initiatives • Training and mentorship for clinical and non-clinical staff • Repeat prescription management • Supporting utilisation of electronic repeat dispensing Job description Job responsibilities Pharmacy technicians in GP practices are now central to the management of medicines and the delivery of services across the NHS.
