Phlebotomist

Main duties of the job This role will be to undertake and record venepuncture following evidence-based national and clinical governance principles.You will ensure samples are stored in appropriate containers with accurate, legible labelling to confirm patients identity. Duties • Ensure the patient is comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample • Collection of samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures • Ensuring each sample is stored in appropriate containers • Accurate, legible labelling of all samples to confirm identity • Checking patient identification and confirming whenever possible • Recording collection of blood samples in a patient record in accordance with The Networks procedure • Ensuring the samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion • Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff • Notifying the clinical team of any significant patient issues Working Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and on Friday. 16 hours per week Job description Job responsibilities Main duties of the job This role will be to undertake and record venepuncture following evidence-based national and clinical governance principles.You will ensure samples are stored in appropriate containers with accurate, legible labelling to confirm patients identity.
