Job description

Engineering Services West Midlands to £45,000 + benefits Ref: 10460 The Company Our client is an established and expanding provider of specialist facilities and technical services, supporting a broad customer base across the UK. With continued investment in its operational capability, the business is now looking to strengthen its planning function through the appointment of an experienced Planning & Scheduling Manager. The Role Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will take responsibility for the effective planning, scheduling and deployment of a field-based technical workforce. The role will focus on improving visibility, utilisation and operational efficiency across multiple service lines, ensuring work is planned and delivered in the most effective and commercially sensible way. This will include managing the allocation of field-based resources, maintaining forward visibility of capacity and demand, and monitoring utilisation, downtime, travel time and overtime. You will also produce operational reports and performance analysis, coordinate resources for larger projects, planned works and customer shutdowns, and help improve planning processes, systems and ways of working across the business. The Person You will have experience in planning, scheduling, resource coordination or workforce deployment within a field-based service environment. Highly organised and commercially aware, you will be confident managing competing priorities, improving processes and working with stakeholders across a fast-moving operational business. An understanding of technician utilisation, capacity planning and efficient resource deployment will be important, together with the ability to use data and reporting to support better decision-making. Experience of using scheduling, workforce management or resource planning systems is essential.
