Working for a busy Groundworks Subcontractor The client is looking for an experienced Plant Manager. Previous experience as a depot or workshop manager is crucial to the role and you must have managed a team of fitters & drivers.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Regular Construction site visitation for plant inspection
• Organise & administrate the repair and maintenance of the plant
• Tracker maintenance
• Pre-delivery/ Return inspections
• Collaborate with manufacturers to resolve technical issues
• Coordinate & administrate LOLER and PUWER inspections of all plant
• Communicate details of breakdowns and the progress of ongoing repairs at the daily briefings
• Liaise with site managers to resolve plant issues and other requests where possible
• Source / raise orders for parts, consumables and services etc
• Follow up the progress of parts, service, and material orders to delivery
• Ensure workshop consumables and fitters’ van stocks are kept at a reasonable level
• Liaise with management regarding replacement & new plant
• General ad-hoc workshop duties such as stock takes, waste oil collection, disposal of batteries and tyres etc
• Manage health and safety of the workshop & associated yard
• As Workshop Manager control and manage a small team of mechanics and drivers, instruct and manage their workload effectively

Requirements:
• At least 3 years in a similar role as Workshop Manager
• Successful and proven progression (fitter – supervisor - manager)
• NVQ in plant maintenance or equivalent
• Driving Licence - Full
• Awareness of plant and vehicle legislation and policies

Schedule:
• Monday to Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
• Weekend Work – Only if necessary
