Job description

• Registered holder of the British Casting Certificate (BCC) SCQF Level 8 Diploma (formerly BOA(SON)/AOT qualification) or equivalent • Able to demonstrate continuing professional development • 5 GCSE grade C or equivalent • Experienced in the application of a wide range of plaster casts • Experienced in the application of orthotic devices • Able to work in the multi-disciplinary team • Experienced in giving appropriate advice to patients regarding their plaster cast / orthosis • Up to date knowledge of current casting issues and practise • Knowledge of trauma and orthopaedic conditions and treatment options • Kowledge of casting techniques • Awareness of own limitations • Excellent level of knowledge of musculo-skeletal system • Excellent understanding of patient care needs • Able to plan, assess, implement and evaluate patient care • Priortise tasks appropriately • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills • promotes patient education • Ability to work under pressure.
