Platform Engineer

Platform Engineer (Data Platforms)Location: London We're looking for a Platform Engineer to build and maintain scalable, secure and high-performance data platforms. You'll play a key role in ensuring reliable data services while working closely with data scientists, analysts and engineering teams. What you'll be doing • Building and maintaining scalable data platform infrastructure • Ensuring high availability, performance and security of data services • Developing and maintaining data pipelines • Collaborating with data teams to integrate tools and services • Troubleshooting complex platform and data infrastructure issues • Supporting cross-team integration with wider systems and applications • Driving improvements across platform architecture and design What we're looking forEssential: • Strong experience in platform engineering / operations (Linux-based) • Experience with data platforms or big data environments • Understanding of data lake architectures and data governance • Strong knowledge of security (encryption, access control, vulnerability management) • Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash, Ansible, Puppet) • Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) Nice to have: • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) • Exposure to data tooling (Airflow, NiFi, Elasticsearch) • Experience with Cloudera / Hadoop ecosystems (Spark, Hive, HDFS) Why join? • Work on modern data platforms at scale • Collaborate with data scientists and engineering teams • Opportunity to shape platform architecture and best practice If you're passionate about data platforms, automation and scalable infrastructure - apply now.
