Job description

You will be required to assess diagnose and treat patients with predominantly high-risk feet according to best evidence-based practice. This will include full screening for patients with, for example, diabetes mellitus where necessary using specialist equipment. Report and/or liaise with the Senior Podiatrist and Team Lead, or other appropriate person, in relation to any perceived risk, either in regard to clinical or non-clinical related issues. Supervise and provide a point of reference for Podiatry Assistants and participate in the Preceptorship programme. Attend any relevant and/or appropriate meetings in liaison/discussion with the Team Leader Provide support for colleagues and supervision for podiatry assistants. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Be able to gain patient consent and inform and agree treatment outcomes. Respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of clients and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs. Identify through assessment patients who do not reach podiatry access criterion and to be able to diplomatically discharge such patients in circumstances where there may be confrontational barriers to such a process.
