Practice Educator Senior Radiographer, Band 6

The Practice Educator Radiographer will support safe patient flow and operational delivery whilst balancing education responsibilities, demonstrating the ability to prioritise workload effectively and manage competing demands. They will undertake more complex radiographic examinations with minimal supervision and support junior colleagues in developing safe clinical decision-making skills. A significant component of the role will involve acting as a named Practice Educator for undergraduate radiography students, apprentices, assistant practitioners, support workers and other learners undertaking clinical placements within Imaging Services. The post holder will contribute to the development of future workforce models, supporting apprenticeships, alternative training pathways and career development opportunities for staff across the radiology service. The Practice Educator Radiographer will act as lead radiographer when required, coordinating workload allocation, supporting patient flow and ensuring safe and effective service delivery. They will provide visible leadership and support to junior staff, learners and multidisciplinary colleagues. The post holder will act as an ambassador for the Radiology profession and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, supporting recruitment initiatives, careers events, university engagement activities and open days. They will actively promote radiography as a rewarding healthcare profession and contribute to attracting future talent into the workforce.
