Job description
• To work within clinical boundaries, demonstrating safe clinical decision-making, delivering high quality clinical care.
• To provide essential treatment duties such as BP checks, Long Term Condition Reviews, NHS Healthchecks, prescribed injections (e.g. B12, Depo-Provera and Denosumab) BMI and lifestyle advice
• Provide holistic assessment of wounds and implement wound care including complex wound management in line with current evidence-based guidelines
• Offer advice about childhood and adult immunisations and ensure vaccines/injections are administered under patient group directives (PGDs) or individual prescriptions (PSDs)
• Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule
• Actively participate in seasonal and special projects as requested e.g. flu campaign
• Act as chaperone when required
• Vaccine / cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
• Undertake health promotion to help educate patients
• To maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes
• To collect data and participate in regular Practice audit and research projects
• To contribute to the preparation of any Practice development plans
• To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to Code of Professional Conduct
• To maintain own continuous professional development with the support of the practice as required
• Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and clinical training sessions.
