Learning Support Assistant (ASD Specialist – KS1) We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Key Stage 1. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD. • Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities. • Implement strategies to promote communication, social development, and emotional regulation. • Assist with the delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans. • Support positive behaviour management and encourage independence. • Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs. • Monitor progress and provide feedback on pupil development. • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Requirements: • Experience supporting children with ASD, ideally within a primary setting. • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service • Understanding of SEND and autism-friendly support strategies. • Strong communication skills and a patient, proactive approach. • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
