Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Year 5 Nelson, Lancashire Start Date: September 2026 Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm £16.35 per hour Level 3 Teaching Assistant Required We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Nelson from September 2026. This is a full-time role supporting pupils within a Year 5 classroom, making it an excellent opportunity for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children achieve their full potential. The Role As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support pupils in their learning both in whole-class and small-group settings. • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons. • Provide targeted interventions to support pupil progress. • Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement. • Assist in creating a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. • Confidently cover PPA sessions when required, delivering pre-planned lessons and managing the classroom effectively. Requirements To be considered for this role, you must: • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). • Have previous experience working within a primary school setting. • Be confident leading a class and covering PPA sessions. • Have strong classroom management skills. • Be enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable. • Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
