Primary SEND Teaching Assistants • Job Type: Supply (Short-term/Long-term, potential for permanent) • Location: Maidstone and Medway areas, covering all of Kent • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, School Hours • Salary: Competitive rates We are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants who specialise in supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These opportunities are available across a variety of schools in the Maidstone and Medway areas, with the potential to cover all of Kent. Our roles offer both short-term and long-term supply, with the possibility of transitioning to permanent positions for the right candidates. Day-to-day of the role: • Support pupils with special needs such as autism, ADHD, complex needs, and sensory impairments (hearing and visual). • Assist in the delivery of tailored educational activities and lessons planned by the teacher. • Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all pupils. • Facilitate communication between pupils and staff. • Monitor and support the progress and well-being of pupils. • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Required Skills & Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in a SEND setting. • Familiarity with the challenges and strategies related to supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, complex needs, and sensory impairments. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Patience, understanding, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively. • A commitment to the development and education of children with special needs.
