Job description

The Opportunity We are recruiting on behalf of a growing organisation seeking a Private Client Solicitor or experienced Probate Legal Professional to join their In-House legal team. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strong background in probate and estate administration to move into, or further develop, an in-house legal career. You will play a key role in supporting the administration of estates, providing expert legal guidance, and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and compliantly. The role would suit a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, Probate Practitioner, or experienced legal professional who has managed probate matters and estate administration work and is looking for a varied, client-focused position outside of private practice. Location: East Anglia Salary: Competitive + Benefits Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Key Responsibilities • Managing a caseload of probate and estate administration matters from instruction through to conclusion. • Preparing and reviewing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration. • Advising stakeholders on probate processes, estate administration and related legal matters. • Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, government bodies, and external legal advisers. • Identifying potential legal risks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures. • Assisting with inheritance tax submissions and estate reporting requirements. • Maintaining accurate records and case management systems. • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the legal function. • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to deliver a high standard of service. About You We welcome applications from: • Qualified Solicitors (NQ+), Chartered Legal Executives, Licensed Conveyancers with probate experience, or experienced Probate Fee Earners. • Individuals with strong experience handling probate and estate administration matters. • Candidates with a good understanding of wills, estate administration and inheritance tax processes. • Professionals capable of managing their own workload with minimal supervision. • Individuals who possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Candidates who enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and delivering high-quality outcomes. Desirable • STEP qualification or progress towards accreditation. • Experience of complex estates or contentious probate matters. • Previous in-house experience, although this is not essential.
