A highly regarded and long-established law firm in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join its thriving team. This opportunity has arisen as part of a planned succession strategy, offering a clear pathway into a senior leadership position within a successful and well-established department. This role is ideal for an ambitious solicitor looking to take the next step in their career, working alongside an experienced department leader before ultimately assuming responsibility for the continued growth and development of the team. The Role The successful candidate will manage a varied and high-quality private client caseload, providing expert advice to individuals, families, and business owners on a wide range of matters, including: • Probate and estate administration • Wills and estate planning • Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) • Trust creation and administration • Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning • Capital Gains Tax considerations relating to estates and trusts • Succession and wealth preservation planning • Lifetime gifting strategies and tax-efficient asset protection • Advising clients on passing wealth to future generations Working closely with senior colleagues, the successful solicitor will play a key role in maintaining exceptional client relationships while contributing to the strategic direction of the department. This position offers far more than a traditional fee-earning role. With an established succession plan already in place, the successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to develop into a leadership role, taking responsibility for the Probate and Private Client department in the near future. This is a rare opportunity for a solicitor with both technical expertise and commercial awareness to build upon an established reputation and help shape the future success of a well-respected legal practice. Candidate Requirements Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors with proven experience in Private Client law. The ideal candidate will have: • Strong experience handling probate and estate administration matters • Excellent knowledge of Wills, LPAs, trusts and tax planning • Experience advising on Inheritance Tax and related taxation issues • The ability to manage a caseload independently • Strong client care and relationship management skills • Excellent communication and organisational abilities • A commercial and proactive approach to business development • A genuine desire to progress into a leadership position STEP qualification, or working towards STEP membership, would be advantageous but is not essential.
