Why apply for this Product Design role?You'll enjoy: • Starting salary from £29,000 • Private healthcare • Excellent holiday allowance • Genuine progression opportunities • The chance to join a successful and growing local business • Exposure to innovative product development projects • Ongoing training and development opportunities Key Responsibilities:As part of the Product Design team, you will: • Assist with new product development activities including 3D modelling, 2D detailing, BOM creation and technical datasheets • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure efficient data exchange and adherence to company standards • Support Product Lifecycle Management processes across multiple departments • Ensure manufacturing and assembly requirements are incorporated into designs • Develop and produce prototype samples, evaluating engineering feasibility • Collaborate with fabrication teams to achieve accurate, right-first-time production • Assist with the development of bespoke and non-standard products • Follow quality, ISO and health & safety procedures at all times What we're looking for:To be successful in this role, you'll have: • Previous mechanical design experience • Experience using 3D CAD software, ideally SolidWorks • Strong computer skills and a desire to continue learning • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy • The ability to manage multiple projects effectively • A reliable and proactive approach to work • An understanding of electrical, optical or thermal engineering would be advantageous This opportunity would suit an experienced Design Engineer looking to broaden their skills, or a developing Trainee Designer ready to take the next step within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
