Job description

We're looking for a Product Electronics Engineer to join an innovative engineering company developing advanced monitoring and control products used by electricity utilities across the UK and internationally. This is a varied, hands-on engineering role where you'll work across the full product lifecycle, supporting the development, testing and introduction of products used within critical national infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical engineering and wants exposure to the complete product lifecycle rather than being limited to one area of electronics. You'll be part of a small engineering team where you'll have genuine ownership, influence product development and work on technology that helps support the UK's transition to smarter, more resilient energy networks. The Role Working closely with the wider engineering team, you'll be involved in a broad range of activities including: • Developing product requirements and technical specifications. • System-level design and product development. • Product verification, testing and validation. • Managing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs). • Supporting new product introduction into manufacture. • Working with suppliers to evaluate new technologies and components. • Environmental, EMC and regulatory testing. • Producing technical documentation. • Supporting continuous improvement of existing products. About You We're interested in engineers who have experience in electronics, product development or hardware engineering. You'll ideally have experience with some of the following: • Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent experience. • Electronics product development. • Fault finding and testing electronic systems. • PCB design or schematic capture. • Embedded systems or microcontrollers. • Product verification and validation. • Technical documentation. • Working with manufacturing or production teams. Experience with EMC testing, product introduction, supplier management or industrial electronics would be advantageous but is not essential.
