Job description

Contract Personnel are hiring a temporary on-going Ice Cream Production Operative. Responsible for filling and sealing ice cream tubs, loading and unloading products and materials, and ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality and food hygiene standards. Key Responsibilities • Fill ice cream tubs accurately in line with production specifications. • Operate and monitor tub filling and sealing equipment. • Check that tubs are correctly filled, sealed, labelled, and packed. • Carry out visual quality inspections and report any defects or issues. • Load and unload ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products. • Transfer products between production areas and cold storage as required. • Assist with setting up, cleaning, and maintaining filling and packing equipment. • Maintain a clean and hygienic work area at all times. • Follow all food safety, hygiene, allergen, and quality procedures. • Work efficiently to meet production schedules and daily output targets. • Support colleagues with general production duties as required. Skills and ExperienceEssential • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. • Able to work in a COLD ENVIRONMENT • Good attention to detail. • Reliable and able to work as part of a team. • Able to follow written and verbal instructions. • Good awareness of health and safety practices. Desirable • Previous experience in food production or manufacturing. • Experience operating filling or packaging machinery. • Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification. Physical Requirements • This is a physically demanding role involving regular manual handling. • Frequent lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading of tubs, ingredients, packaging, and finished products, including some heavy lifting. • Ability to stand for prolonged periods throughout the working shift. • Comfortable working in a chilled production environment. • Ability to wear appropriate PPE throughout the shift.
