Job description

MERITUS are recruiting for a Production Planner to join a national security business based in Hampshire in a permanent role within a new, growing manufacturing unit. PRODUCTION PLANNER - DEFENCE OR ELECTRONICS BACKGROUND - £NEG PER ANNUM + AMAZING PACKAGE - HAMPSHIRE, UK - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS - MUST UNDERGO SC CLEARANCE As the Production Planner, you'll be responsible for planning manufacturing activities, coordinating material availability, and ensuring production schedules are achieved. Working closely with Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial and Programme teams, you'll manage work-in-progress, support inventory control and help drive continuous improvement across the planning process. Key Responsibilities • Develop and maintain production plans to meet customer delivery schedules. • Manage MRP recommendations and material requirements. • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timely procurement of materials. • Monitor production progress and resolve scheduling issues. • Work closely with Engineering to implement design changes into production. • Support inventory management, stock control, cycle counts and WIP reporting. • Produce and maintain production documentation. • Identify opportunities to improve planning and MRP processes. • Provide planning support across the manufacturing function and deputise for the Manufacturing Manager when required. About You • Proven experience in a Production Planner or Manufacturing Planner role. • Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, IFS or similar). • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills. • Experience of Lean Manufacturing principles is desirable. • Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong IT skills with excellent attention to detail. Desirable: • Degree or relevant engineering/manufacturing qualification. • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
