Job description

Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking. On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Programme Lead (Model Validation Transformation) for a 6 Months (with likely extension) contract based in London or Edinburgh (Hybrid). Purpose of the role: As Programme Lead with experience in Model Validation Transformation you will drive a high-profile transformation initiative within a Group Model Validation function. Operating at the intersection of risk, regulation, technology and AI, you will play a key role in shaping the future operating model, improving validation processes and supporting the adoption of new frameworks and technologies across the organisation. What you'll do: • Lead the delivery of strategic transformation initiatives across the Model Validation function. • Drive improvements to validation frameworks, governance processes and operating models. • Partner with senior stakeholders across Risk, Technology and Business teams to influence change and secure alignment. • Oversee programme planning, progress tracking, resource management and delivery governance. • Support the development and implementation of AI-related frameworks, controls and ways of working. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, prioritisation and risk-based decision making across validation activities. The skills you'll need: • Proven experience leading large-scale change or transformation programmes within Financial Services. • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at senior leadership level. • Understanding of emerging AI technologies and associated governance, risk and control considerations within highly regulated organisations. • Good understanding of Risk, Model Risk, Model Validation or broader regulatory change environments. • Experience delivering technology, data or operating model transformation initiatives. • Strong programme management capability, including planning, governance, risk management and delivery oversight. • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a complex, regulated environment.
