Receptionist (Temporary Contract) Location: London, SE17 1AD Pay Rate: £13.92 per hour Contract: Temporary contract until 29th August 2026 (subject to change) Start Date: Immediate start required Working Hours: Shift pattern including: • 8:30am – 4:30pm • 4:00pm – 8:30pm • Regular Saturday working required About the Role We are currently recruiting for a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist to support the day-to-day operations of a busy community hub in South London. As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth running of reception and administrative functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities • Welcome visitors and provide a professional front-of-house service. • Respond to enquiries in person, by telephone, and via email. • Manage room bookings and support community activities and events. • Process payments and maintain accurate records where required. • Provide general administrative support to the centre team. • Ensure facilities are prepared for room hire bookings and programmed activities. • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent customer experience. • Report any health and safety concerns or building issues promptly. • Support the smooth operation of the community hub during evenings and weekends as required Essential Requirements • Previous experience in a reception, customer service, or administrative role. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Good organisational and time management skills. • Professional and welcoming manner. • Ability to handle enquiries efficiently and professionally. Desirable • Experience working within a community hub, leisure, health, or public-facing environment. • Knowledge of health and safety procedures within a public building setting.
