Quality Control Analyst – Chemical Manufacturer
Location: Suffolk
Salary: £30,000–£36,000 (DOE)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
The Role
We are seeking a Quality Control Analyst to join our QHSE team, reporting to the Quality Control Lead. This hands-on laboratory role is critical to ensuring materials and products meet company and client specifications, while supporting production and R&D activities.
You will carry out chemical analysis using techniques such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, Karl Fischer and titrations, maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, intermediates and finished products
• Prepare samples and accurately record results within quality systems and ERP databases
• Maintain and update analytical methods, specifications and documentation
• Support troubleshooting, method reviews and investigations
• Assist with maintenance and calibration of QC equipment
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety standards and quality systems
• Collaborate with Production, R&D and other departments to meet business priorities
• Provide cover for the Quality Control Lead when required
Requirements
• Degree in Organic or Analytical Chemistry (or equivalent experience)
• Practical knowledge of GC, HPLC, FTIR, KF and titration techniques
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable:
• 1–2 years’ experience in a QC laboratory
• Experience in fine chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing
Additional Information
• Laboratory-based role with regular PPE use and occasional plant visits
• Flexibility to work rotating 12-hour shifts is essential - 3 days on, 4 days off
• Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
