QTS GCSE English Tutor Job Details We're looking for GCSE English Tutors to support young people across Hampshire who require a more personalised approach to education. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide 1:1 tuition to vulnerable children and young people, helping them develop their English skills, prepare for GCSE qualifications, and build confidence in their learning. Many students may have experienced disruptions to their education and benefit from consistent support tailored to their individual needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for education professionals who enjoy working closely with learners and seeing the direct impact of their support. • Location: Hampshire • Subject: GCSE English • Hours: Flexible • Start Date: September • Type: 1:1 Tuition • Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Requirements • Minimum 6 months' experience working in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistance, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles • Strong English subject knowledge • Ability to deliver engaging and personalised GCSE English sessions • Experience supporting learners with SEND is desirable • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Patient, adaptable, and supportive approach • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one • Access to a vehicle is beneficial; alternatively, willingness to travel within your local area Who You'll Support You may work with learners who have a variety of additional needs, including: • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs • ADHD • Anxiety and school avoidance • EHCPs and other additional learning needs Each learner requires an individual approach focused on engagement, confidence-building, and educational progress.
