Job description

Qualified Social Worker, Children in our Care Team, Blackburn Council Pay rate to £39 per hour Contract role Vitalis are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to work in a Children in Our Care Team in Blackburn Council. Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services who were graded ‘good’ in its full ILACS Ofsted inspection, require 1 full time agency social worker to cover in its CIOC Court service, mainly carrying out all required duties in relation to children looked after subject to care proceedings. You may be required to undertake duties for children who remain looked after following the conclusion of care proceedings, including some whose long term permanence plan is not yet in place. The candidate will have at least 3 years post qualification experience, ideally this being in longer-term safeguarding/care proceedings and other court work. The candidate must have a SWE registration and be a car driver, with previous experience of the use of Protocol LCS system an advantage. You must have good communication skills and be a team worker with the ability to work independently, manage a caseload and undertake all directions to meet local authority and court timescales.. There is both office-based working and home working arrangements as per the service requirements so you will be required to work flexibly, with a requirement to be office based 3 to 4 days per week as a minimum.
