Leading quality, driving improvement, and ensuring excellence in care across our services As our Quality Assurance & CQC Compliance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across our residential, nursing, and retirement living services. This is a strategic leadership role, responsible for shaping and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and excellence. Working closely with Registered Managers, operational leaders, senior colleagues, external partners, and regulatory bodies, you will provide expert guidance and assurance across quality, governance, compliance, and health and safety. You will lead the development and implementation of robust quality assurance frameworks, ensuring our services remain compliant, inspection-ready, and focused on delivering outstanding, person-centred care. While Registered Managers retain operational responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of their services, you will provide the oversight, challenge, support, and expertise needed to ensure consistent quality standards across our care and housing services. About our services Our care homes are real homes: welcoming communities built on belonging, connection, and purpose. They are places where residents can continue to enjoy meaningful lives, with opportunities for activities, entertainment, friendships, and personal interests. Each home provides culturally sensitive care, including synagogue services, kosher or kosher-style meals, and celebrations of Shabbat and Jewish festivals. Alongside residential and nursing care, our Retirement Living services support people to remain independent while providing reassurance that support is available whenever needed. Key responsibilities Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement • Lead the development and delivery of quality assurance frameworks across Care and Housing services. • Establish effective systems to monitor quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. • Promote a culture of learning, reflection, and improvement through evidence-based practice. • Provide expert advice, constructive challenge, and support to managers and senior leaders. CQC Compliance & Regulatory Assurance • Maintain oversight of compliance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations and CQC Fundamental Standards. • Lead CQC readiness activity across services, supporting Registered Managers through inspections and regulatory reviews. • Ensure statutory notifications and regulatory requirements are completed accurately and within required timescales. • Monitor compliance with accreditation and external assurance requirements. Audit & Quality Management Systems • Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System for Care and Housing services. • Lead internal audit programmes, identifying risks, trends, and opportunities for improvement. • Ensure audit findings are effectively managed, with clear action plans and follow-up. • Support services to embed learning and sustain improvements. Governance, Reporting & Risk Management • Prepare high-quality reports, analysis, and recommendations for Executive leadership and governance meetings. • Provide insight into quality performance, risks, themes, and improvement priorities. • Support the Clinical Governance Subcommittee with reporting and administration. • Provide guidance on incident reviews, risk management, and mitigation strategies. Training, Learning & Development • Develop and deliver training relating to quality, compliance, governance, and safety. • Work closely with Learning & Development colleagues and clinical educators to identify learning needs. • Support managers and teams to understand regulatory expectations and embed best practice. About you You will be an experienced quality, governance, or compliance professional with significant experience within adult social care and a passion for improving outcomes for older people. You will have: • Demonstrable leadership experience at a senior management level within adult social care. • Proven experience preparing services for CQC inspections and maintaining regulatory readiness across multiple sites. • Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, Fundamental Standards, Quality Statements, and the Single Assessment Framework.
