We are on the lookout for a dedicated Quality Inspector to play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality for our innovative aircraft interior components. Summary: • Start date: ASAP • Duration: 6 months with potential to extend or go permanent! • Location: Leighton Buzzard • Pay Rate: £21.90 per hour • Hours: 39 per week • Shift Pattern - Lates: Monday to Thursday 3pm - midnight and Friday 12pm - 5pm Key Responsibilities: As a Quality Inspector, you will: • Carry out First Article Mechanical Inspections of aerospace industry components and sub-assemblies to the AS9102 standard. • Finalise First Article Inspection Reports and accurately record data in our MRP computer system. • Manage and control equipment calibration to maintain the highest quality standards. • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing insights on product and process quality performance. • Liaise with suppliers to swiftly resolve customer issues and enhance satisfaction. • Collaborate on New Product Introduction processes through effective quality planning and implementation. • Capture and analyse quality data against targets, taking prompt action on any adverse variations. Required Skills & Experience: To thrive in this role, you should possess: • Experience with CMM, with MCOSMOS software knowledge being a plus. • A strong background in quality and/or aerospace, ideally within medium to high-volume manufacturing. • Proficiency in using handheld measuring tools (Verniers, Height Gauge, Micrometres) and understanding engineering drawings, including geometrical tolerances. • A Continuous Improvement and 5S mindset. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels. • Strong IT skills with effective use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and familiarity with MRP systems. • A working knowledge of AS9102 standards and experience with First Article Inspections in a machine shop environment. Preferred Skills & Experience: • Experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry, especially in a machine shop setting. • Continuous Improvement and LEAN Manufacturing principles is desirable.
