Job description

This role is responsible for leading and maintaining a comprehensive Quality Management and Governance Programme across Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT), Immune Effector Cell (IEC) therapy, and Paediatric Haematology and Oncology services. The post holder works closely with clinical, pharmacy, administrative and management teams, as well as external regulatory and accreditation bodies, to ensure compliance with national and international standards, including JACIE and HTA requirements. Key responsibilities include managing audits, inspections, risk registers, incidents, CAPA programmes, policies, SOPs, quality documentation and governance processes; overseeing data reporting, regulatory submissions and cell storage reviews; and providing expert advice on quality, governance and information management. The role also supports service development, continuous improvement and organisational compliance through audit, risk assessment, validation studies and outcome monitoring, while contributing to patient safety and experience indirectly through robust quality systems. In addition, the post holder provides leadership and line management to staff, manages agreements and financial reporting related to transplant and cellular therapy programmes, and works autonomously to deliver high standards of governance, regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
