Receptionist / Administrator - £24,000 - £26,000pa – Canterbury, Kent
Our client, a thriving professional Law firm based in Canterbury, are looking for a Receptionist / Administrator to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. For this office-based role we are looking for someone with previous experience within a professional client facing environment (ideally a Law firm), excellent communication and organisational skills and a strong attention to detail.
Duties for the Receptionist / Administrator will involve: -
• Answering incoming calls in a professional, timely manner and directing to the correct department / person and dealing with the overflow of calls from the main switchboard.
• Taking accurate messages and ensuring they are promptly passed to relevant person.
• Greeting visitors and staff, maintaining the visitor and staff signing in/out register and ensuring compliance with office security policies.
• Monitoring the meeting room diary daily to anticipate visitor arrivals and manage room bookings effectively.
• Responding effectively and promptly to enquiries from internal/external contacts.
• Ensuring the post is prepared, franked and ready for end of day posting.
• Maintaining a tidy, organised and professional appearance across the reception area and meeting rooms at all times.
• Monitoring and ensuring adequate office supplies and stationery are maintained.
• Overseeing the archiving process, accurately recording archive reference numbers.
• Scanning and copying documents as required.
• Assisting the Practice Manager with delegated administration tasks and ad hoc projects to support the smooth running of the office.
What you will need for the Receptionist / Administrator role: -
• Good level of academic achievement
• Minimum of one year in a professional or client facing environment managing enquiries
• Good IT skills (experience of a Legal Practice Management system preferred).
• Strong administration support and organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and professional telephone manner.
• A strong team player who’s also able to work on own initiative and knows when to ask for assistance.
• A proactive and flexible attitude with a desire to learn new skills.
• A strong understanding of strict confidentiality and data protection.

Our client is offering a salary of £24,000 - £26,000pa, 24 days holiday which rises with service and a host of other great company benefits.
The working hours for this role are 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
