Job description

• To greet patients on our reception desk and undertake reception duties in a prompt and courteous manner projecting a positive image of the practice whilst maintaining strict confidentiality • Manage appointment requests from patients in person, by telephone or through our online triage system and arrange appointments with the relevant clinicians within the practice • The ability to signpost patients to the appropriate local care pathways and services outside the practice • The ability to respond to emergency situations in a calm and considered manner • An understanding of safeguarding issues for vulnerable patients groups including children, elderly, housebound and those with complex health needs • The booking of outside interpreters to assist patients during appointments • Taking requests for home visits in line with our practice policy • Dealing with a variety of routine and complex enquiries from both patients and outside agencies • Processing of repeat prescription requests • Managing requests and informing patients of charges for private services. Accepting payments and issuing receipts • Patient registrations which include temporary patients.
