A role with purposeAs our LGBTQ+ & Chemsex Recovery Coordinator, you'll help shape the future of specialist support across Brighton & Hove. This isn't a traditional Recovery Coordinator role. It's a unique opportunity to combine outreach, specialist case management, partnership working and service development to reach people who may never have considered engaging with treatment. You'll spend time building relationships where they matter mostin community settings, alongside local organisations and within trusted spaces across Brighton & Hove. By meeting people where they feel comfortable, you'll help remove barriers, build confidence and create meaningful pathways into treatment and recovery. Making a lasting impactWorking as part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll provide specialist support to LGBTQ+ individuals and people involved in chemsex whose needs are often complex and may not be met through traditional treatment models. You'll manage a specialist caseload, delivering person-centred interventions that improve physical health, emotional wellbeing and social outcomes, while promoting safer choices through tailored harm reduction advice and health promotion. You'll work closely with sexual health services, community organisations, healthcare professionals and wider partners to create joined-up pathways of care, ensuring people receive coordinated support that reflects their individual needs. Alongside direct work with service users, you'll act as the service lead for LGBTQ+ and chemsex-related practice, helping colleagues build confidence, identifying emerging trends and contributing to the ongoing development of specialist interventions and community partnerships. You'll also support the development of peer-led groups, represent the service at partnership meetings and help shape innovative approaches that improve access and outcomes. The person we're looking forThis is a specialist, autonomous role suited to someone who already has significant experience working within drug and alcohol services. You'll be confident working independently, comfortable building relationships across diverse communities and passionate about improving outcomes for people who may be underrepresented within treatment services. You'll bring: • Significant experience supporting LGBTQ+ communities and/or individuals involved in chemsex or the use of club drugs. • Excellent case management skills and experience supporting people with multiple and complex needs. • A strong understanding of harm reduction, recovery-focused practice and health promotion. • Experience delivering outreach and engaging people in community settings. • The ability to build trusted relationships with service users, colleagues and partner organisations. • Confidence working across organisational boundaries to develop new pathways and opportunities. • A proactive, innovative approach with the ability to identify gaps and develop new ways of working. • Resilience, adaptability and excellent organisational skills. Because of the specialist nature of this role, it isn't suitable as an entry-level position. We're looking for someone who can bring both experience and fresh thinking to help us continue developing this important area of work.
