Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home
• Hourly Rate: £40 - £50
• Location: Stockport, Cheshire
• Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead one of Stockport Council’s children’s homes. This role is ideal for an experienced Registered Manager, a Deputy Manager ready to step up, or a Senior Residential Support Worker aiming for progression. The position offers the chance to create a nurturing and stable environment for children and young people, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and able to thrive.
Day-to-day of the role:
• Lead the day-to-day operations of the children's residential home.
• Develop and maintain a reflective and supportive staff team focused on safeguarding, fostering positive relationships, and achieving the best outcomes for children.
• Ensure the home provides a warm, nurturing environment where children and young people can feel secure and listened to.
• Collaborate with families, colleagues, and partner agencies to build positive relationships.
• Implement child-centred and trauma-informed approaches to care.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Experience in a managerial role within residential childcare, either in the public or private sector.
• A child-centred and trauma-informed approach to care.
• Demonstrated resilience and emotional intelligence.
• A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
