Your Company: NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a leading provider of specialist rental equipment solutions who are seeking a Rental Service Technician to join their team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This is an on-site position, working five days per week, offering an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality equipment and exceptional customer service across a wide range of industries. With a continued focus on safety, innovation and customer satisfaction, they are looking to appoint an experienced technician who can play a key role in supporting both customers and the wider engineering team. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and highly skilled technical function, taking responsibility for the installation, maintenance and repair of rental equipment while delivering first-class service to customers both on-site and in the field. Your Roles and Responsibilities: While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to: • Installing, servicing and repairing a range of rental HVAC and power equipment, including chillers, air conditioning units, heaters and generators • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults both in the workshop and at customer sites • Testing equipment to ensure it is operating safely, efficiently and ready for deployment • Completing accurate service reports, maintenance records and other technical documentation • Providing technical support and operational guidance to customers, ensuring equipment is used safely and effectively • Carrying out preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime • Adhering to all company health and safety procedures, industry regulations and service standards • Supporting and mentoring junior technicians, sharing technical knowledge and promoting best practice where appropriate • Working closely with colleagues and customers to ensure service calls and installations are completed efficiently and professionally • Participating in overtime, weekend work and on-call support where required to meet customer needs What You Will Need to Apply: The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience working within an HVAC, power generation or similar engineering environment, with strong technical knowledge of servicing and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment. Applicants should possess excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues efficiently and safely. Experience working with rental equipment such as chillers, generators, air conditioning systems or heating equipment would be highly advantageous. Candidates should be confident interpreting technical manuals, schematics and engineering documentation, while maintaining accurate service records and completing work to a consistently high standard. An EPA certification for refrigerant handling, or an equivalent relevant qualification, would be beneficial for this role. The successful individual will be customer-focused, proactive and highly organised, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with both customers and colleagues. They will be comfortable working independently in the field, while also contributing positively to a collaborative engineering team. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and be willing to travel regularly to customer locations. Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend working and participation in an on-call rota will also be required.
