Research & Development TechnicianLocation: Redditch, Worcestershire
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday | Day Shift | Flexi-Time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research & Development Technician to join a leading engineering manufacturer. Working within the high-pressure engineering team, you'll be responsible for building, testing and validating prototype compressors, supporting new product development and helping bring innovative designs into production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and assemble prototype compressors, test rigs, jigs and fixtures.
• Machine and modify components to support product development.
• Carry out product testing and validation to ensure performance and specification requirements are met.
• Record and analyse test data, producing technical reports to support engineering improvements.
• Support the transition of new products from prototype through to production.
• Investigate product issues and recommend engineering improvements.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
Requirements:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Product Design, or HND/NVQ Level 4 with relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in rotating machinery or machinery development.
• Mechanical engineering and manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of AC electrical systems and data acquisition.
• Pneumatic systems knowledge is desirable.
• Strong mechanical assembly and problem-solving skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
