Revenue Controller This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to play a key role in improving billing performance, reducing lock-up and driving the effective conversion of Work in Progress (WIP) into revenue. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will support revenue growth, working capital improvement and the implementation of best-practice billing processes. Location: Hybrid Working Salary: Competitive Contract Type: Permanent Start Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities • Take ownership of aged WIP and drive the conversion of WIP into billed revenue • Monitor WIP, billing and lock-up performance, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for improvement • Lead regular WIP review meetings, ensuring actions are agreed, tracked and delivered • Challenge and escalate aged, high-value or high-risk balances to ensure timely resolution • Promote compliance with billing policies, revenue governance standards and best-practice processes • Identify revenue leakage risks, billing delays and process inefficiencies, recommending corrective actions • Produce and analyse WIP, billing and revenue reports, providing meaningful insight to senior management • Support the implementation of billing improvement initiatives, including milestone and recurring billing arrangements • Work collaboratively with Credit Control and Finance teams to improve revenue conversion and cash collection performance • Investigate the root causes of WIP accumulation and support process improvement projects • Contribute to wider working capital and billing transformation initiatives across the business Key Requirements • Previous experience within a Revenue Controller, WIP Controller, Billing, Working Capital or Revenue Operations role • Experience working within a professional services environment • Strong understanding of WIP management, billing processes, revenue conversion and lock-up management • Proven ability to influence and build credibility with senior stakeholders • Experience managing aged WIP balances and driving revenue recovery activity • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide commercial insight • Advanced Excel skills and experience producing management reports • Commercial awareness with a focus on revenue protection, cash generation and performance improvement • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Experience using CCH or similar financial reporting systems This opportunity would suit a proactive and commercially minded Revenue Controller who enjoys influencing stakeholders, driving process improvements and making a measurable impact on revenue performance and working capital management.
