About the Role
This is primarily a Duty GP session. The successful applicant will provide same-day urgent care, support the reception team with clinical queries and manage acute presentations during the session.
Our practice operates a telephone-first triage system, with patients being converted to face-to-face appointments where clinically appropriate. The successful applicant should therefore be confident managing telephone consultations as well as face-to-face assessments.
Duties
The successful applicant will:
• Undertake telephone triage and face-to-face consultations.
• Act as the Duty GP during the contracted session.
• Manage urgent same-day presentations.
• Provide clinical advice and support to reception and administrative staff.
• Assess and manage medical emergencies presenting to the Practice.
• Undertake clinical triage and urgent decision-making.
• Review pathology results and clinical correspondence arising from consultations.
• Identify and complete QOF opportunities during consultations.
• Arrange appropriate follow-up appointments, investigations and recalls.
• Ensure accurate clinical coding and documentation.
• Participate in practice meetings, significant event reviews and clinical governance activities where appropriate.
