Job Title: Head of Account Management
Salary: £70,000 + Bonus/OTE
Location: Basingstoke (Hybrid)
Type: Full-time
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Account Management to join a growing SaaS business serving the construction, infrastructure, engineering, and built environment sectors. This player-manager role combines leadership of an Account Management team with ownership of key strategic accounts, driving retention, revenue growth, customer adoption, and overall team performance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers.
• Set KPIs, performance objectives, and development plans.
• Conduct regular coaching sessions, pipeline reviews, and account planning meetings.
• Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and development initiatives.
Strategic Account Management
• Manage a portfolio of key and enterprise customers.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Lead account planning, customer engagement, renewals, and negotiations.
• Act as an escalation point for critical customer issues.
Revenue Growth & Retention
• Deliver retention, renewal, and expansion targets.
• Identify opportunities for increased product adoption and account growth.
• Drive cross-sell and upsell activity.
• Monitor customer health and proactively mitigate risks.
Customer Success
• Ensure customers achieve measurable value from the platform.
• Increase adoption across departments and stakeholder groups.
• Use data and insights to improve engagement and outcomes.
• Champion a customer-first approach throughout the business.
Reporting & Strategy
• Track performance, retention, growth, and customer health metrics.
• Provide forecasting and strategic insights to senior leadership.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Help develop scalable account management processes and best practices.
Requirements
• Proven experience leading Account Management, Customer Success, or Strategic Accounts teams.
• Strong background managing enterprise or key customer relationships.
• Demonstrated success in customer retention and revenue growth.
• Experience coaching and developing high-performing teams.
• Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders.
• Strong commercial, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Data-driven approach to account planning and growth.
• Desirable: SaaS, ConTech, construction, infrastructure, or engineering sector experience.
