Sales Performance ManagerTerritory: Southampton to Cornwall (South West Region)
Ideal Location: Swindon, Wiltshire (or commutable to the South West territory)
Salary: £52k + £2.2k + world class car scheme
The OpportunityA leading automotive manufacturer is seeking an experienced Sales Performance Manager to support and develop a network of franchised retailers across the South West region.
Covering a territory from Southampton through to Cornwall, this field-based role will focus on driving retailer performance, increasing market share, improving customer satisfaction and ensuring dealerships achieve ambitious sales targets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused automotive professional with experience working for an OEM, importer, or dealer group, who understands how to influence retailer performance and build strong partner relationships.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver sales volume, market share and profitability targets across the South West territory.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with dealer principals, general managers and sales teams.
• Develop retailer action plans to improve sales performance and customer outcomes.
• Analyse sales data, market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
• Implement national sales campaigns and commercial initiatives within the dealer network.
• Conduct regular retailer performance reviews using agreed KPI measures.
• Support dealers with forecasting, stock management and sales process improvement.
• Drive brand standards and ensure a consistent customer experience across the network.
• Provide coaching, guidance and best practice support to retailer teams.
• Prepare territory reports and performance updates for senior management.
About You
• Significant experience within automotive sales, dealer network development, regional operations or field-based OEM roles.
• Strong understanding of franchised dealer operations and retail performance management.
• Proven track record of delivering sales growth through dealer networks.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders including Dealer Principals and Group Directors.
• Strong commercial awareness with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Highly organised, self-motivated and capable of managing a large geographical territory.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the region.
Desirable Background
• Experience working for an automotive manufacturer, importer or large dealer group.
• Knowledge of network development, franchise standards or retailer performance programmes.
• Previous experience in Area Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Network Development Manager, Regional Operations Manager or similar field-based positions.
