Medical Receptionist / Front of House
Location: Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham (Fully on-site role — remote or hybrid working is not available)
Job Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with additional hours when required and occasional weekend cover.

Job Description
As the first point of contact for patients, visitors and clinicians, you will be the welcoming face and voice of House of Health. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with our clinicians and wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic while providing first-class customer service to every patient.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Greeting patients and visitors with a warm, friendly and professional approach.
• Answering incoming telephone calls promptly and efficiently.
• Registering new patients accurately, following clinic Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
• Booking, amending and confirming appointments.
• Checking patients in and out while ensuring clinics run smoothly and on schedule.
• Building positive relationships with new and returning patients.
• Coordinating closely with consultants and clinicians regarding appointments and daily clinic schedules.
• Monitoring and responding promptly to the clinic's shared email inbox.
• Keeping up to date with internal communications, including Slack and other messaging platforms.
• Maintaining accurate patient records and updating our clinical systems.
• Supporting the wider administrative team with general reception and office duties.
• Helping maintain a welcoming, organised and professional reception environment.

What We're Looking For
Essential
• Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house or customer-facing role.
• Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Confidence following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) accurately and consistently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy environment.
• Good IT skills and confidence using booking systems, email and Microsoft Office.
• Reliable, punctual and dependable.
• A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• Availability to work 9:00am–5:00pm, with flexibility for additional hours and occasional weekend cover.
Desirable
• Experience working within private healthcare.
• Experience within hospitality, luxury retail or another premium customer service environment.
• Experience using CRM or patient management systems.
