We are currently recruiting for Imaging & Scanning Assistants to join a leading National Library based in Boston Spa. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong attention to detail, good computer skills, and a methodical approach to work. The role offers an immediate start and an ongoing temporary booking within a supportive team environment.
The Role
As an Imaging & Scanning Assistant, you will be responsible for producing high-quality scanned images from a variety of library materials, ensuring customer specifications and quality standards are met at all times.
You will work with a range of documents and publications including theses, journals, newspapers, and other archive materials, helping to preserve and digitise valuable collections.
Key Responsibilities
• Scan library materials in accordance with customer requirements and project specifications.
• Ensure all scanned images meet agreed quality standards and targets.
• Work closely with Imaging Technicians to manage workloads and resolve any processing queries.
• Retrieve, handle and re-shelve library materials before and after scanning.
• Maintain accurate records and statistics of work completed.
• Participate in team meetings and project briefings.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and conservation handling standards.
• Provide support and guidance to temporary colleagues where required.
• Assist in other operational areas as needed.
• Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Working Environment
• A role involving a combination of sitting and standing throughout the day.
• Some manual handling and light lifting required.
• Working with specialist scanning equipment and PCs.
• Handling valuable collection materials in line with conservation standards.
