Job description

Teaching Assistant - Secondary School • Annual Salary: £16.35 per hour • Location: Wyre & Fylde • Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) • September Start We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for maternity cover at a Secondary school in the Wyre & Fylde. This role involves working either one-on-one or in small groups, supporting children with their educational, behavioural, and social development. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children, particularly those who face challenges such as dyslexia, disabilities, or health issues. Day-to-day of the role: • Support children one-on-one or in small groups to enhance their learning and development. • Assist with the educational, behavioural, and social development of students. • Work closely with teachers to tailor support to individual student needs. • Help create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment. • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: • Demonstrated reliability, commitment, and interest in working with students. • Excellent role model qualities such as compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills. • Strong interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children. • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
